(Last Updated: November 04, 2025)

1. Introduction

Thank you for your interest in Börs Engineering. Protecting your personal data and handling it responsibly are very important to me. As a freelance engineer, I have carefully considered how to ensure that the information of clients and website visitors is handled with the greatest possible care and in full compliance with data protection laws.

You can generally use this website without providing any personal data. However, if you wish to access certain features — such as the contact form or commenting on blog articles — it may be necessary to collect and process limited personal data, such as your name and email address. In these cases, processing is always carried out in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable German data protection regulations.

To protect your information, I use secure hosting, encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), and other technical and organizational measures designed to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure. However, as internet-based communication can never be completely secure, absolute protection cannot be guaranteed. If you prefer, you are welcome to share personal information with me through other channels, such as by telephone or via end-to-end encrypted messaging services like Signal (https://signal.org).

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have several important rights concerning your personal data. These include the right to:

  • Access – to obtain confirmation and details about the personal data I hold about you

If you would like to exercise any of these rights, please contact me at mail@boers-engineering.com. Furthermore you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. In Germany, this is typically your state’s data protection authority.

5. Data collection

Personal data is only collected and processed when it is necessary for technical operation, communication or legal obligations.

Typical categories of data include:

  • Contact details: name, email address, phone number
  • Usage data: IP address, browser type, time of access (automatically logged by my hosting provider)
  • Meta and communication data: server log files or email metadata for security and troubleshooting

I do not use analytics tools, tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or automated profiling.

6. Purpose of data collection

I process personal data for the following purposes:

  • Operating and securing my web services (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR)
  • Responding to inquiries and client communication (Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR)
  • Fulfilling legal obligations (Art. 6 (1)(c) GDPR)

7. Contact form and Communication

When you contact me by email or via the contact form, your information is processed solely for the purpose of handling your request. The data will not be passed on to third parties. Messages are stored only as long as necessary to respond or comply with legal obligations.

8. Blog and Comments

If you use the blog comment function, the data you provide (name, email, comment text) will be stored to display your comment and prevent misuse (e.g., spam or illegal content). Comments remain published until deleted. I may use WordPress Gravatar and emoji features provided by Automattic Inc. to display profile pictures and icons.
